Colouring Plastic Model?
Hi,
I have this plastic model ( Tamiya US enterprise carrier CNV-65) & I want to start paint the body of the carrier ( I am not new with this) but i have listened to three different ways to do this job & I hope you could help me to choose which one is better for best results & if you have another way please let me know before I start :
First one : 1- wash the body with soap & water ,2- paper sand the body,3- paint it with airbrush.
Second way : 1- paint the body with primary color,2-paper sand the body,3- paint it with airbrush.
Third way : same like second way but without the need for paper sand the body.
I hope you could help me with that because it’s nice model & deserve the effort .
One more thing may I know in general the importance of paper sanding & primary colouring for plastic model painting.
Thanks all.
I would do it mostly like #1.
Wash everything in warm, soapy water, then let air dry.
Airbrush on a coat of primer. Let dry. Fix any minor problems you may see, then airbrush your final colors.
You can also try using a wash to bring out the fine details.
Have fun!
